Youth Organising School and Practicum
About the project
A hands-on project where young people completed 30 academic hours of training and applied their skills while preparing an Estonian Independence Day community event in Narva-Jõesuu.
Details
Project idea
The project was designed as a practical school for young people who want not only to attend events, but to understand how they are created: from the first idea, roles and budget to partners, technical tasks and working with visitors.
The focus was on building a new team of young organisers in Narva-Jõesuu. Participants learned to plan community events, work in a team, communicate with partners, design a programme for different age groups and take responsibility for a real result.
What happened
During the project, young people completed 30 academic hours of training. Topics included project thinking, event scripting, communication, safety, volunteer coordination, stage work, activity zones and working with family audiences.
After the training, participants moved into practice by helping prepare the Estonian Independence Day city event on 24 February 2026. This was not a classroom simulation, but real community work with real tasks, deadlines and responsibility.
Result
The project gave young people a clear route into civic activity: they gained knowledge, tried the organiser role and saw how their work can influence town life.
The result was not only preparation for an event with around 500 guests, but also a team that can join future Narva-Jõesuu initiatives with practical experience already behind them.
